Claude to PDF Chrome Extension: Install, Use and Privacy

What the extension adds

Once installed, every conversation on claude.ai gets a floating Save as PDF button, plus a toolbar popup with the same action. Clicking it reads the visible conversation, opens the converter with the text pre-filled, and leaves you one press from a formatted download.

Installing it in under a minute

The extension is Manifest V3 and installs from a downloaded folder.

• Download the extension zip from the extension page and unzip it.
• Open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions.
• Enable Developer mode, then click Load unpacked.
• Select the unzipped folder — the icon appears in your toolbar.

Privacy: what it can and cannot see

The extension requests access to claude.ai and claudechattopdf.com only. It reads the text of the conversation you are looking at, stores it in local extension storage for the few seconds it takes to hand off to the converter, then deletes it. There is no analytics, no account and no third-party server in the chain.

When you do not need it at all

The website itself converts pasted conversations and public share links without any extension, which matters on mobile browsers and managed work machines where extension installs are blocked. The extension is a convenience layer, never a requirement.
